We celebrated our sweet Emerson’s first birthday today! His party theme was:

I made the “cow pies” (brownies) and the cupcakes. The ‘howdy cowboy cupcake kit’ is from Meri Meri Party supplies. They have a lot of items for all different themes and occasions.
The ‘howdy cowboy garland’ is also from Meri Meri Party Supplies.
The table clothes are from dollar store and the western bridles, bits, and horse shoes are all mine from my horse showing days.
To go with the cowboy theme, I ordered BBQ, buns, slaw, green beans, & baked beans from a local place called Prissy Polly’s. It was perfect for the occasion. I also made ‘wagon wheel pasta salad’ and lemonade to go with the meal.
My talented girlfriend at THP Script helped me with all the script work on the chalkboard signs. She is SO good. If you are in need of some party chalkboard design work or even wedding invitation calligraphy, she’s your girl. Check her out here.

The temps dropped down today so the high was only 59 and it was chilly! Emerson had to bundle up!
Too bad this kid doesn’t have a little more personality, geez! 😉

Emerson was gifted so many sweet presents. He is a lucky guy!
Smash Cake time! Actually, more like finger paint cake….
By the end, we had to jump in the bathtub to get all the frosting out of our hair!

Oh, before I forget – I wanted to share his party invite. I had this vision of a naked baby on a rocking horse, in a picture that looked old-timey. I think it turned out pretty well! Here is a snap of it that I shared on my Instagram stories this weekend. And yes, that is really Emerson on a rocking horse that Stephen’s grandfather made.
