2017 Christmas Recap!

Better late than never!

I made the novice Mom mistake in thinking I’d be OK to take Emerson to see Santa on December 22, the last weekend before Christmas. When we arrived the line was wrapped around and around like we were at Carowinds Amusement Park. The wait was two hours to see Santa AND he needed to take an hour lunch on top of the two hour wait! We lasted a grand total of 45 minutes before we gave in and chalked it up to a loss. We did take a few cute pics looking through the window at Santa, haha!  Next year, we know the deal!

That evening we had a few of our friends over for a little Christmas get-together.  The girls also treated me to a few birthday goodies, as my 32nd birthday was the day before.

There is just nothing like watching the magic of Christmas through your child’s eyes.  So special!  Emerson was completely mesmerized but the train under the Christmas tree.  He would watch it go around the tree forever.

Unlike usual years, I only set up one slim tree in our formal living room.  I just didn’t feel up to fighting Emerson off three trees all day long so this worked great, as we have a gate on the doorway too the dining room.

Christmas morning, Santa had come!  He brought Emerson a new table and chairs for his new big boy bedroom that we are working on after the first of the year, a Radio Flyer 4-in-1 tricycle and a few small Melissa and Doug wooden toys and books.

We were headed to visit my family in Wisconsin two days after Christmas, so rested and took it easy the best we could until then.  Emerson and I caught a bug so we were a little under the weather Christmas Day.

It’s hard to believe that next year we will be taking TWO babies to see Santa!

Am I the only one feeling this?!
