2018 Easter Weekend Rewind

On Saturday we traveled with our friends the Damman’s to the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro.  It was the perfect day to go to the zoo, with clear blue skies and temps around 70 degrees.

A surprise to us, apparently Easter weekend is the zoo’s busiest weekend of the year, due to spring break and the long weekend.  We got there and it was packed!  Thank goodness for buying tickets ahead.  There had also been a park Easter egg hunt that morning.

Emerson’s favorite part of the zoo was the kid place zones like this one, complete with recycled rubber faux mulch.  He was like a kid in a candy store running, climbing and jumping.  Here you see a wild animal in his natural habitat. 😉

Emerson and his girlfriend Hallie had a blast!

Emerson’s second fav part of the zoo was the lions. He kept saying “meow” to them.  The female lion really was eyeing him up as well and wouldn’t keep her eyes off him the entire time, probably thinking he’d make a nice afternoon appetizer, haha!  How cute are my boys here?!

Getting a toddler to look at the camera is always fun these days. 😃

On Easter Sunday morning, we headed to church.  I had nursery duty, which was packed with kids, of course!  I love seeing all the families dressed up in their Easter bests.

After church, we headed to one of our favorite local places called J Peppers and enjoyed their Easter Sunday brunch buffet.  We ate our fill of all the good things!  I’d definitely go back there in future years for Easter.

I’m 26 weeks pregnant right now, so not too much left on this journey.   Just need to move on through April, May and June. 🙂

Stephen is always good at wrangling for pics!  Emerson looks like he is having an awful time, doesn’t he?!

We couldn’t have asked for a prettier Easter weekend here in North Carolina.  Low 70’s and beautiful Carolina blue skies.  I am not ready for the weekend to end!

Hope y’all had a restful weekend!  It’s weekends like this that make me super energized for spring and all the good that is to come in the next months.
