Stephen and I took a trip to Las Vegas two weeks ago which was a mix of business (me) and play. It was long-over due, as we haven’t done more than an overnight away from our kids in three years. LOTS of preparation went into leaving for a week, but it was totally worth it. Shout out to Stephen’s mom and sister for watching our kids for us! Here’s us being those parents who are sending a super grainy selfie to our kids in the airport HAHA.
We stayed at the MGM Grand and we loved it.
I asked a lady to snap a pic of us, and she gave us one far away and one super close, LOL.
The pools and lazy river were awesome, and even better for the people watching!
Eating on the strip one night at Cabo Wabo, across from the Bellagio.
And that’s a wrap! I didn’t take tons of pics, but trust me, it was a good time.
Recently, I had dinner with my girlfriend at a spot called Willow’s Bistro in Winston-Salem and it was great. They have farm-fresh, American fare. My stripe romper and the black one from Vegas are both Amazon finds.
Shopping with my best girl.
Cell pic from Brooke’s baby shower. Full shower details with my nicer camera can be found here.
I planned a mini food truck festival for my company as a celebration for our award with the Triad Business Journal’s Best Places To Work. I typically work on events that are more for external prospects and clients but this was fun to be able to do something for our internal folks.
Best rose I’ve had in awhile! I found it at Target.
Had a nice day date with my big boy. He is obsessed with swinging now and I pushed him on the swings for over and hour on Sunday. We chatted about all sorts of things but I found myself staring in awe at the handsome and smart big boy that he is becoming.
He found a ‘Tow-Mater’ tow truck when we were driving back (from the Cars movies) and I let him stop to see him. 🙂
Lastly, we are still soaking in allll the pool opportunities we can get at our neighborhood pool!
On an Elin Hilderbrand kick right now. I just read The Perfect Couple and liked it a lot. Just started this one and have Summer of ’69 next up on my list. I also finished Crazy Rich Asians in Vegas and loved it. The character mix and lots of culture are a bit overwhelming at first, but it turns out great and ends completely different than the movie does. (watched it and liked it too!)
One last quick thing …
Back to school season will be here before you know it, and I love to get to know Emerson’s teachers by getting them to fill out a little ‘Getting To Know You’ form. It makes things super convenient for during the year when you want to give the teachers gifts. You’ll know you are getting them something that they like. Check out the free printable form here.
xoxo,
