Wisconsin Grandparent’s North Carolina Visit – Part 1

We were so fortunate to have my parents (who are based in Wisconsin) visit us for a month from mid February to mid March. I’ve always wanted them to come for an extended period of time so they’d have the opportunity to immerse themselves with our kids. Between being pregnant three times in four years, having babies and toddlers and the pandemic, it’s been nearly impossible to make trips up to Wisconsin.

My parents rented a home in Stokesdale that was pet friendly, so they could bring their two semi-elderly dogs. The house was just a 20 minute drive through the country to our house.

We packed so much into the month’s visit. Typically during the week days, we’d keep the normal work/school schedules but they’d take each child for a 1:1 special day one of the mid week days. Their 1:1 days were FULL! I’ll let the pics do the talking!

Lots of crafts.

Shape and letter bingo.

Tea parties.

Some baking.

Mom and I have a nice patio lunch one day at one of our fav’s – J Peppers.

Many park visits

Yoga on the farm!

One super exciting part of the visit is that my parents bought a lot of land to build on while they visited. My dad has wanted to move down here forever. He actually passed up a good job opportunity when my sister and I were in high school because we didn’t want to leave our friends HA! They plan on keeping the Wisconsin house for the time being, but have a vested future in NC to look forward to.

Part 2 of the visit is here!
