Miami Beach Adults-Only Vacation

So it had been a minute! We had not taken an adults-only anything in a few years … since July 2019 when we went to Las Vegas. So it was clearly overdue. Stephen was the planner for this vacation, which was pretty awesome. He picked a great city and hotel. We stayed at The Confidante, which was in a trendy part of Miami Beach with swanky hotels and sophisticated bars. The resort was ocean front, but had a luxe pool setup as well. The vibe of the hotel is very 1940’s art deco.

We split our time between the beach and the pool, but both were awesome. The beach access came with chairs for the hotel guest and you could rent umbrellas for a fee. Umbrellas are a must for Florida in August if you plan on spending more than 15 minutes on the beach!

We did not plan one thing ahead of time for this vacation other than the flight and hotel reservations. This was intentional, as our day-to-day lives are so scheduled. We chose to just go and chill and pick places to eat and things to do as the moment struck us. A few highlights include:

A rooftop dinner at Serena – alfresco patio dining of Oaxaca and Mexico City.

We ate twice at the Donna Mare Trattoria – which was next to our hotel below The Cadillac Hotel.

Our friends the Sevillas came to visit us for the day and ended up getting a room and making a full day and night out of the trip.

We loved renting bikes and biking along the Boardwalk all the way down past the Art Deco Historic District to South Pointe Pier.

The last evening we had in FL, we went to get some fish at a local place – Shuckers Waterfront Grill. It was packed and it was delicious! It had a very local vibe to it, and a beautiful water view at our open table.

My parents held down the fort with our three wild ones at home. They were the real MVPs of the trip!

Sooo when’s the next parents only vacay?!?! πŸ˜‰

We have a handful of family trips coming up the second half of the year and a few plans for next year.

xx,

Mallory
